The Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office summer sports camps are designed to bring the community and law enforcement officers together to instruct children and teenagers in the community. The camp is provided at no cost to participants. In each camp the basic fundamentals of the sport are taught. Each player will have the opportunity to learn new skills and to improve existing skills. There is a strong emphasis on sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork. Registration for camps generally begins in May.

Kids love bounce houses, so what could be better than an indoor room full of them? Bounce-n-Play has a room full of bounce houses (including a couple for smaller kids), two play areas (one for bigger kids and one for toddlers), an art area, concession stand and small store all under one roof. The clean facility also offers summer camp. Children can sign up by the day or by the week.

Located at the edge of Shenandoah National Park, Camp Varsity’s 125 acres provide plenty of space for campers (boys and girls ages 7 to 15) to enjoy activities such as archery, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, camp fires, swimming, Frisbee football and more. This co-ed day camp for children ages 7 to 14 offers weekly camp sessions which run from 8am to 3pm. Extended care is available in the afternoon. The Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office Youth Academy is structured so that youth can have an opportunity to experience some of the training, procedures, and technology that are utilized by today’s law enforcement. The daily classes will consist of hands-on activities in criminal investigations, evidence recovery, patrol practices, defensive tactics, and firearms. Participants will attend demonstrations from various specialized units such as the K-9 Unit, Motor Squad, and Culpeper Joint Special Operations Team (SWAT). Participants will take field trips to the Culpeper County Jail, firing range, Culpeper Communications Center (E911) and forensics lab. Rising 9th through 12th graders are eligible. The camp is free and limited to 25 participants. Registration usually takes place in early June.
